Pallium India invites applications to the post of a Nursing Tutor – Palliative Care at Thiruvananthapuram.

Qualification:

  • B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Certification or formal training in palliative care is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in palliative care.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is an asset.

Language: English, Malayalam

Desired Skills

  • Strong foundation in palliative care principles, nursing interventions, and patient-centered care.
  • Skilled in engaging adult learners, with clear communication and participatory teaching methods.
  • Empathetic and sensitive to the needs of patients with life-limiting conditions.
  • Basic MS Office and online tools proficiency; fluent in English and local language; Hindi desirable.

Job Profile
  • Educational Delivery:
    -Conduct interactive & evidence-based sessions on palliative care topics tailored to nurses & allied healthcare professionals.
    -Facilitate group discussions, case presentations, and skill-building workshops.
    -Demonstrate clinical skills and supervise participants during hands-on training.
    -Liaise with nursing colleges to support the rollout of palliative care curriculum and our
    organization’s textbook/resource materials.

  • Curriculum Implementation:
    -Lead the initiative to integrate palliative care education into BSc Nursing programs as mandated by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
    -Implement the curriculum as per guidelines from the palliative care education department.
    -Participate in the development and periodic revision of teaching materials and modules.
    -Ensure alignment of teaching with national and institutional standards of palliative care.
  • Clinical Supervision:
    – Guide learners during clinical observation and practice in palliative care units.
    – Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to support professional development.

  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    – Conduct assessments (theory and practical) and evaluate learner performance.
    – Maintain records of attendance, progress, and evaluations.
  • Coordination and Administration:
    – Coordinate with faculty, clinicians, and administrative staff to ensure smooth program delivery.
    – Maintain documentation and submit periodic reports on training activities.
