Pallium India is committed to scaling up Palliative Care by capacitating professionals. Most of our trainees are from various parts of India, lately we have also engaged with professionals from neighbouring countries.

Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS) has been certified as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) for Training and Policy on Access to Pain Relief. Trainings are done both on-site,  at the Bruce Davis Training Centre, and virtually, through teleconferencing in partnership with Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes), India.

Trainees include Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Allied Health Professionals and Volunteers.

Onsite Palliative Care training has been conducted in RCC Agartala, Cachar Cancer Hospital and Assam Rifles, Silchar, NHM & Synod Hospital Aizawl, Sevagram in Wardha, Dilasa Hospice in Goa, State Institute of Health & Family Welfare in Panchkula and in NEIGRIHMS, Shillong through our National Outreach Programme.

State Facilitation

Pallium India’s state facilitation team forges partnerships with individuals, organisations and governments. Through our regional program officers, we catalyse the development of effective pain relief and quality palliative care services and integrate them with healthcare across India through education, capacity building, policy, research, advocacy and information.

So far, centres have been catalysed in 27 states and 3 Union Territories, prior to which there were negligible palliative care facilities in these regions.
