Job Title: Medical Director

Nemmadi Mission:

To lead and oversee the medical operations of a fully charitable, 55-bed hospice center in Nelmangala, Bangalore, ensuring the highest standards of compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care for individuals with terminal illnesses. The Medical Director will foster a culture of excellence, ethics, and empathy among the medical team, ensuring dignified care for all.

Key Outcomes:
The Medical Director will be responsible for achieving the following goals:

1. Excellence in Patient Care: Ensure that 100% of patients receive dignified, high-quality, evidence-
   based hospice and palliative care.
   
2. Clinical Leadership: Establish best practices in symptom management, pain relief, and holistic
   patient care, while overseeing a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and caregivers.
   
3. Medical Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a skilled, empathetic, and mission-driven
   medical team, fostering high morale and retention.
   
4. Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Maintain 100% compliance with Indian healthcare
   regulations and ethical guidelines governing charitable hospice care.
   
5. Community Engagement & Advocacy: Strengthen partnerships with government agencies,
   healthcare organizations, and donors to expand free hospice care access for underserved
   populations.
   
6. Sustainability & Growth: Collaborate with leadership to design strategies for service expansion,
   secure funding, and maximize impact while ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Core Competencies (Who is the right fit?):
The ideal Medical Director for Nemmadi should possess the following:

1.Medical Expertise: Board-certified physician, preferably, with specialization in palliative care,
oncology, internal medicine, or geriatrics. Should ideally have led/managed a team providing
palliative care to patients with serious disease in either a non-profit or a commercial setting and have
about 10 years experience.

2.Empathy & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with
patients, families, and staff.

3.Commitment to Service: Deep passion for mission-driven charitable healthcare, with a strong
understanding of India’s hospice landscape.

4.Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to navigate medical and operational challenges, ensuring
optimal patient care.

5.Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to inspire, lead, and empower medical teams in a resource-
limited setting.

6.Strategic Vision: Desire to develop and execute a long-term healthcare strategy to enhance impact
and sustainability.
