Pallium India invites applications for the position of Social Officer (Community Palliative Care)
Purpose:
The Social Officer will engage communities to identify individuals needing palliative care, facilitate
access to services, and ensure continuity of psychosocial and community support. The role is field-
based and involves close coordination with volunteers, field teams, and clinical services across
Bengaluru.

Qualifications & Experience:
-MSW in Community Development or related discipline
-2 to 3 years’ experience in community or health programmes preferred
-Willingness for extensive field engagement
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Strong community engagement and communication skills
- Sensitivity in working with patients and families
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Fluency in Kannada and English required
Key Responsibilties:
Community Engagement:
-Build relationships within communities to enable palliative care access.
Identification & Referral:
-Identify and screen individuals requiring palliative care.
-Coordinate referrals and access to services.
Follow-up & Support:
-Support implementation of care plans and conduct follow-ups.
Mobilising Community Support
-Identify and mobilise non-clinical support within the community including practical assistance,
caregiver support, and local resource linkages.
-Facilitate community participation and local partnerships to strengthen patient support systems.
Documentation & Reporting
-Maintain accurate field records and programme reports.
