About the Role:
The Pharmacist will be responsible for managing the procurement, storage, and dispensing of medications at the Palliative Care Centre. They will ensure compliance with medical and legal regulations while working closely with doctors, nurses, and caregivers to provide accurate medication guidance and support to patients. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescribed medications and ensure proper dosage, administration, and possible side effects are communicated effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, prescriptions, and medication distribution.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and institutional policies.
- Monitor drug interactions, contraindications, and allergic reactions for patient safety.
- Assist healthcare professionals in optimizing medication plans for palliative care patients.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication usage, storage, and disposal.
- Manage procurement and inventory to avoid shortages and ensure cost-effective medication use.
- Coordinate with suppliers and regulatory authorities to ensure timely availability of medications.
- Stay updated with new pharmaceutical developments relevant to palliative care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm) from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Pharmacy Council of India.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a hospital or palliative care setting.
- Strong understanding of palliative care medications, pain management, and controlled substances.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and documentation in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Proficiency in Kannada and English.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of alternative and complementary therapies in pain management.
- Experience in inventory management and procurement of specialized medications.
- Training in geriatric or palliative care pharmacy practices.
Compensation
