In an initiative to enhance volunteer engagement and support, Pallium India’s Facilitation team recently organised its first five-day online Volunteer Training Program (VTP), in response to several requests for the same. The training was conducted in Hindi, to ensure more participation from the Hindi-speaking population. Close to 230 participants joined the session from across the country.

The attendees represented a diverse group, including patients with Parkinson’s and their caregivers, cancer survivors, psychologists, counsellors, government officials, doctors, teachers, students, senior citizens, showcasing the inclusive nature of the program. Patients with Parkinson’s shared their journeys, cancer survivors narrated their stories of resilience, and professionals like psychologists, counsellors and teachers contributed their expertise. Students and senior citizens also added valuable insights, making the discussions rich and comprehensive.

The training sessions were led by an excellent faculty, each an expert in their respective field. Their dedication and knowledge were evident as they delivered engaging and informative sessions. The interactive nature of the sessions fostered a participatory learning environment, encouraging attendees to ask questions, share their experience, and collaborate on problem solving.

This training has set the bar for future initiatives and the Facilitation team was happy to be able to plan, coordinate and execute this training.

As Pallium India continues to expand its volunteer network, such training programs will undoubtedly play a vital role in empowering individuals and communities to provide compassionate care and support.
