Pallium India was recognised for its contributions to palliative care services in Thiruvananthapuram district at a district-level meeting convened by the District Collector, Ms. Anu Kumari, on 16th January 2026, following Kerala Palliative Care Day observed on 15th January.

Dr. Greeshma represented Pallium India at the meeting, which was organised to identify and coordinate NGOs and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) providing free palliative care services across the district. The gathering brought together representatives from registered palliative care units, with over 50 participants attending from various organisations.

During the meeting, the District Administration acknowledged the services rendered by Pallium India in the field of palliative care. A certificate of appreciation was presented to Pallium India in recognition of its sustained efforts to improve access to compassionate, patient-centred care for people living with serious illness.

Senior officials, including Ms. V. Priyadarshini, District Collector Ms. Anu Kumari, and District Palliative Care Coordinator Mr. Roy, addressed the gathering and highlighted the crucial role played by NGOs and CBOs in strengthening Kerala’s palliative care ecosystem. Kerala currently has around 1,500 registered palliative care units, and invitations were extended to all units to participate in the meeting, reflecting the state’s strong community-based palliative care network.
