Purpose

The Nursing Lead will oversee nursing services across OPD, Day Care, home-based, and community
palliative care settings in Karnataka. The role ensures the delivery of compassionate, ethical, and high-
quality nursing care aligned with Pallium India’s mission, while providing strong clinical leadership,
operational oversight, and mentorship to nursing teams.

Qualifications & Experience

-M.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing / GNM + Post Basic B.Sc.
-Valid registration with the Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC)
-10–15 years of nursing experience, preferably in palliative care, community health, or public health
-Experience in leadership or supervisory roles
-NFPN / Palliative Care training desirable

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka
Compensation: As per organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Management

  • Oversee daily nursing operations across OPD, Day Care, home care, and community settings
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in case discussions, care planning, and clinical review meetings
  • Supervise home visits for patients with complex palliative care needs
  • Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation

Leadership, Quality and Administration

  • Lead recruitment, training, deployment, and supervision of nursing teams
  • Plan duty rosters and ensure optimal staffing
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives and support audits and incident reviews
  • Ensure compliance with ethical, institutional, and legal requirements
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, and safe storage of nursing supplies and medicines
  • Support data reporting, including entry into the State NCD portal

Community & Public Health Engagement

  • Support community outreach and identification of patients requiring palliative care
  • Build partnerships with public health facilities and community stakeholders
  • Advocate for the needs and rights of palliative care patients
