A Stitch of Love, A Fabric of Hope
A 17-year-old girl battling cancer recently reminded us that dignity and love are just as important as medical care. Her mother, once skilled in tailoring, had been struggling to make ends meet. Seeing her pain, we stepped in with a small but meaningful intervention—a sewing machine to help her regain her livelihood. The first thing she stitched? A beautiful new outfit for her daughter. When the girl wore it, her smile spoke volumes—it was more than just clothing; it was a symbol of love, dignity, and hope. The mother’s joy in being able to care for her child in this way was equally profound. This simple act reaffirmed our belief that palliative care is not just about relieving pain; it’s about restoring dignity and improving quality of life.
