It has been more than 3 years since we reported to you a humble beginning that we were able to make in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh (HP).

It is heartening to see where HP stands now, after several training programs undergone by medical and nursing staff both in Shimla and Trivandrum.

Dr Gopal Chauhan from the Government of HP is the live wire who made a lot happen in the state. Today, 11 district hospitals have well-functioning palliative care services. Together, in a year they gave palliative care to 494 outpatients and to 135 inpatients. 8 out of the 11 hospitals now have access to morphine.

Congratulations, Dr Gopal Chauhan and all concerned in HP. Pallium India is proud to be your fellow-traveler.
