photoIt is providential. Advocate Mr Sampath, MP (member of Parliament) who was a strong supporter in Parliament to our efforts for amendment of the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act of India, was on the dais in University of Kerala defending his thesis submitted to his University. His thesis work was on NDPS Act.

He made an important point during the discussion. The law of the land had to be based on our culture. Cannabis was a part of any festivity in many parts of India. Attempts at curbing it’s use by law would make way for ineffectiveness of curbing control over hard drugs like heroin too.

Congratulations on your research, Mr Sampath, and thank you for the support.
