foundation course in palliative medicine
Objective:

The 10-day Foundation Course in Palliative Medicine will enable participants to gain practical “hands-on” training in pain management and communication, supplemented by theoretical background.

Eligibility:

M.B.B.S or B.D.S with permanent registration with medical / dental council.

(In accordance with the rules of the Dental Council of India (DCI), the holder of a BDS degree should be eligible to practise palliative care in conditions associated with the oral and maxillofacial area. Under the NDPS rules of 2015, BDS with training in pain management is adequate qualification to be in-charge of a Recognised Medical Institution (RMI) to stock and dispense Essential Narcotic Drugs (END) including morphine, methadone and fentanyl).

Venue:

The Foundation Course in Palliative Medicine will be held in the institutions and palliative care services attached to Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS) including outpatient clinic and home and hospice visits.

Working Hours:

Work starts at 9 AM and finishes at 5 PM.

Course Fees

US $750. Candidates from within India can apply for a subsidised fee of ₹5000. Payment is to be made on acceptance to the course.
