Pallium India Signs MoU to Support Palliative Care in Libya

Pallium India, Trivandrum, Kerala, and the Libyan Society of Palliative Care and Prolonged Critical Care, Tripoli, Libya, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in areas related to palliative care and prolonged critical care.

The partnership aims to enhance access to and improve the quality of palliative care services in Libya for mutual benefit. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to long-term cooperation in the areas of education and training, capacity building, research and publications, development of clinical practice guidelines, advocacy and policy initiatives, and exchange programs.

As part of this collaboration, 70 doctors from Libya have already been trained under the Foundation Course in Palliative Medicine, and two doctors are currently undergoing the Global Fellowship Program. Mr. Binod Hariharan, Chairman and CEO, Pallium India, described the MoU as a significant milestone in Pallium India’s journey, highlighting its importance in advancing the organization’s vision and mission.

Dr. Fathi Abousnina, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Society of Palliative Care and Prolonged Critical Care, stated that the society and Libyan doctors look forward to collaborating in every possible way to improve access to and quality of palliative care in Libya.
