Bridging medicinal gaps in childhood cancer care in Chhattisgarh

During Paediatric Cancer Awareness Month in September 2026, Niramayah Cancer Foundation (NCF) reflected on its continuing efforts to address critical medicinal needs among children receiving cancer care in Chhattisgarh. Working in coordination with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, and Balco Medical Centre (BMC), Raipur, the Foundation has sought to respond to urgent treatment requirements, particularly when time is limited and financial resources are scarce for economically disadvantaged families. In childhood cancer, timely access to prescribed medicines can be integral to maintaining treatment continuity.

Through the generous contributions of our donors, NCF facilitated access to essential chemotherapeutic agents, including cisplatin, midostaurin, doxorubicin, methotrexate and vinorelbine. Support also extended to other critical medicines and supportive therapies, including Rasburicase, Lamphosys, Abucel, Amphocel and Albuhigh. These contributions sought to ease immediate financial pressures on families while helping address medicine-related gaps within tertiary cancer-care institutions serving children from across the state.

This work reflects NCF’s commitment to equitable access to cancer treatment, where a family’s financial circumstances should not determine a child’s opportunity to receive timely, and quality care. During this awareness month, NCF acknowledges the generosity of its donors and the commitment of its institutional partners, whose collective efforts help bring dignity, continuity and hope closer to children confronting cancer in Chhattisgarh.
