More About this training:

Offered by Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS), Pallium India (WHO Collaborating Centre for Training and Policy on Access to Pain Relief)

Pallium India offers a virtual refresher course for nurses who are trained in palliative care to improve their knowledge and skills. This 19.5 hour (14 sessions, 1.5 hours session each) advanced learning in palliative care will include didactic presentations of experts from India, video presentations, case based learning and active discussion rounds.

• Role of nurses in Symptom management
• Revisiting pain management guidelines
• Ethical challenges and navigating dilemmas with compassion

• Managing genito-urinary symptoms
• Children’s palliative care
• Advance care planning and Advance medical directives
• Palliative rehabilitation
• Management of mental health issues
• Grief and bereavement
• Self-care

Objective: 

To update knowledge and improve competence of nurses providing palliative care.

Eligibility:

BSc/MSc Nursing/GNM and has attended a structured course in palliative care Features:

• Pre and post tests
• Each session includes a didactic lecture and a case-based discussion
• Several articles regarding the subject and other learning material will be shared
• End Evaluation
• Certificate issued at conclusion of the course based on attendance (minimum 80% required) and End Evaluation

Course Details

We will conduct online sessions using ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) on the Zoom platform.

• Sessions Scheduled: 14 Sessions
• Day of the Session: Tuesdays and Saturdays
• Start Date: 19 August, 2025(Tuesday)
• End Date: 7th October, 2025(Tuesday)
• Session Timing: 2:00 PM- 3:30 PM (IST)
• Language: English
• Course Fee: Rs 4000/- per applicant
• No. of Participants: 100

To ensure adequate interaction during sessions, we will have to limit the number of participants at each course on a first-come, first-serve basis. So register quickly!

Attendance

Participants need to attend all sessions. If one is unable to attend a session, due to unexpected emergency, they should watch the session videos provided and mail us back a summary of the class. Course certificate can be issued only to those who have attended minimum 80% of the sessions.
