A one-day workshop on the integration of palliative care into private hospitals was held on January 15, 2025, at SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, Vattapara. The event was organized by Dr. M.K. Krishna Kumar, Head of the Department of Community Medicine, and Dr. Arun R., Vice-Principal, Academics, in collaboration with the Pallium India team.

The workshop was inaugurated with a formal lighting of the lamp by Dr. M.R. Rajagopal, Chairman Emeritus of Pallium India. The sessions, conducted by esteemed faculty members from Pallium India, included comprehensive discussions on various aspects of palliative care, aimed at enhancing understanding and implementation in hospital settings.

The workshop was attended by around 50 participants, including interns and faculty members from different departments. The sessions were highly engaging, offering valuable insights into the practical aspects of palliative care.

In his vote of thanks, Dr. Krishna Kumar expressed appreciation for the session and requested that more such workshops be organized in the future to ensure those who missed the event would have an opportunity to participate.

The workshop was a significant step in the ongoing efforts to promote palliative care and improve healthcare practices in private hospitals, aligning with the growing recognition of palliative care’s vital role in patient wellbeing.
