There are more than 500 non-government organisations in the field of palliative care in our country. Is there any part of their work that the government should not be doing? It is only fair that the government system supports non-government organisations.

The government of Goa sets an example. Please watch the video.

The Goa Cabinet has approved a scheme for grant of Rs 2.5 lakh per month to government, NGOs or institutions running palliative care centres for senior citizens with chronic diseases such as Cancer, Brain Stroke, Parkinsons and Alzheimer’s to improve their quality of life.

Dr Vallabh Dhaimodkar and all IMA and all at Dilasa, you show us an example by your governmental advocacy which led to this development, and I hope will form a model for all state governments and the union government to follow.
