IAHPC Traveling Scholarship in Pain and Palliative Care
Pallium India (registered charitable trust) invites applications for scholarships from Indian doctors, nurses and social workers to undergo four to six weeks’ “hands-on” certificate course in Palliative Care in Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences, Kerala or in MNJ Institute of Oncology, Hyderabad. This scholarship is funded by International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) on an experimental basis. Depending on the outcome, it is possible that the scholarship may be extended to other institutions in India in future.
The Scholarship:
10 scholarships are available over one year. Administration of the scholarship will be done jointly by IAHPC and Pallium India.
Each scholarship will comprise of the following:
- Tuition fee up to a maximum of Rs.5000 per person per course.
- Support for accommodation up to a maximum of Rs.6000 per person per month. The host institution will assist the trainee in finding suitable budget accommodation.
- Support for boarding of Rs.4000 per person per month.
- Travel expenses up to a maximum of Rs. 15000 per person per course. Those who live within 1000 kilometers from the training center will be paid III AC rail fare; those who live farther can claim the cheapest available economy air fare subject to the ceiling of Rs. 15000.
Selection:
Applications in the prescribed format will be periodically scrutinized by a committee with members from both Pallium India and IAHPC.
