Ten families will get together at TIPS (Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences) this Sunday May 16th.
Families of 10 special people. They all have paraplegia. Most were confined to their beds till Pallium India reached them. Now they have more things to look forward to.
The palliative care organizations in their own areas (we call them our Iink centers) will arrange for their transport.
The day has the following major objectives:
- To get them out of their four walls. This trip, we feel, have a symbolic value – a major step in their struggle for independence.
- To build a forum for them so that they form their own support system.
- To explore greater opportunities for vocational rehabilitation for thousands like them
- To have some fun (The magic academy in Kochi is coming down to offer them a performance before they go back home in the evening)
